I have a modded 2001 Nissan Maxima that has only cosmetic mods. I'm sure I could help you with some of your cosmetic mods.

How big is it? I hate the park benches on stock cars. I've always been performance over looks. If you need/want any advice i can help.

Start with the basics. Intake for sure. But then you need to think about your goals. Honda/acura like bolt ons a lot. So intake maybe exhaust. Then throttle body's so forth.

Have you ever had any problems with that site, Forbidden? I've heard a ton of bad things about them.. But they might've changed.

Re: real car customization
Also, it depends on the type on intake you want. Cold air which gets air from behind the front wheel and compresses better or short ram which just gives it less space to travel. If you live in a area with a lot of rain I don't suggest cold air since if you suck up water say goodbye to the motor. But AEM intakes are good on Honda platforms. The V2 cold air is solid as a friend of mine had it on his integra. But whats your goal? I know it's early but are you wanting a street car? A street/drag car? Street/track car? Show car?

Re: real car customization
whats the difference between street or track? i may want a show car but i don't want to lower it, i just don't like it lol. cold intake then it may not be good for me because the rsx is my only car and i have to drive it in the rain when going to school.

Re: real car customization
Some cold air's have a bag for the rain but its frankly your call. Some people have both and swap them out. Track cars need lot of suspension and brakes where street its kind of more power or what your tastes are.

Re: real car customization
im gonna install an intake then. probably one that i don't have to swap out the bags like you said so its good for rain too if such thing exist lol. hows your car going? how much have you spent in it to make it a road race so far?

Re: real car customization
Too much lol. The motor build was around 8k. 2k going in for engine control right now. Some other stuff here and there so I'd put it at about 14k so far. And not even close to done. I have the whole suspension to go and braking. Then more power. Then maybe carbon fiber hood, hatch, splitter, and maybe a carbon fiber wing if I think the downforce is needed.

Re: real car customization
wow thats equal to a new car almost!!! I'm not familiar with what a splitter is tho.
are you gonna be racing in tournaments with this or is it a track to race for a hobby?

Re: real car customization
Splitter is what most people call a front lip. It helps the the air go under the car smoother. I plan on starting out as just a casual racer doing track days and so forth. If I want to compete I might look into a different car that can be stripped of the interior or something.

Re: real car customization
oh now i see what it is. doesn't really look like it can improve the car that much such a small thing along the front bumper. stripped of the interior like what you mean by that.

Re: real car customization
Its just areo dynamics. I'm not sure how much it helps but it may at 100 mph+. And I mean taking out the stero, back seats, passenger seat, A/C, anything that isn't necessary.
